Hello Beautiful!

Soooo…..we had a kitchen casualty! The old kitchen sink was beyond saving and it was leaking under the sink. The minute we tried removing the bolts underneath the sink the bottom of the faucet fell apart. It was a solid piece of rust that just crumbled in my hands. LOVELY! So we had no choice but to get a new faucet. We chose this faucet because my mom has one and loves it. Some faucets tend to feel cheap and plasticky(is that even a word?) but this one seems much more solid than the rest plus the price was reasonable.

Our new pretty faucet :) Makes me happy!

Here's what we had before….

This is the now…much better

How To Make Your Stainless Steel Sink Shine

I don't know about you but I just don't enjoy looking at my grungy old stainless steel sink…. I don't want to have to replace it but it's just…. not pretty to look at. So i've tried several methods of how to get this thing to sparkle and this is the best method i've come up with!

You're going to need:

  • Sponge
  • Gloves (optional but recommended)
  • Lemon Juice (or Vinegar)
  • Hot water
  • Goo-gone
  • Olive oil
  • Baking Soda
  • Rag or paper towels

Here is the grungy old sink I started with….

Step #1:
Sprinkle baking soda in the bottom of your sink, add lemon juice or vinegar to both your sponge and bottom of sink.

Step #2:
Scrub the baking soda and lemon juice/vinegar combo in a circular motion covering entire sink. Let this mixture sit for about 10 minutes.

Step #3:
Rinse the sink out thoroughly using hot water.

Step #4:
Spray goo-gone all over the sink.

Step #5:
Use a paper towel or rag and wipe down the entire sink.

Step #6:
Last step is to wipe down the sink with olive oil and then complete it with a dry paper towel/ rag wipe down.

Ta-dah

This old grungy sink has been given a new life. Pretty awesome huh?
